Summary on Three Tools ( Informative, Communicative and Constructive Tools )


It examines the ways in which various digital tools can enhance instruction by fostering creativity, communication, and information access. It focuses on three primary tool categories: informative, communicative, and constructive. Particularly in the educational system of Bhutan, each of these tools is essential to enhancing the effectiveness and interactivity of classroom experiences.

A tool that assists students in organizing and generating their own ideas is considered constructive. A word processing program that is frequently used by both teachers and students serves as the example. While students use it to finish assignments and create learning portfolios, teachers can use it to create lesson plans, worksheets, and assessment tools. It supports students with various learning needs and encourages independent learning with features like tables, formatting, templates, and accessibility features. It also promotes peer collaboration in editing and aids in providing structured feedback.

Additionally, it emphasizes Telegram, a messaging app, as a means of communication. Class announcements, reminders, and learning materials are shared on this platform on a daily basis in academic settings. Instant messaging, voice notes, and group chats are ways that students and teachers interact. Staying informed and organized is made simpler by features like polls, pinned messages, and file sharing. Particularly in remote settings, this tool enhances student engagement overall and facilitates peer discussions and prompt feedback.

Finally, Instagram, a social media site that shares images, is characterized as an informative tool. Through the use of images, brief videos, and infographics, educational content is presented. Teachers can use it to highlight student work, share key terms, or give brief lessons. Learning complicated subjects is made easier and more pleasurable by its visual format. It shows, how these ICT tools can transform classrooms into more inclusive, engaging, and digitally connected while learning. So, from the mentioned tools in each post, madam would assess picture which is bigger in size as I had made it larger one picture keeping other picture smaller.

A constructive tool is a kind of software or educational technology that assists students in creating knowledge instead of just absorbing it. By working on worthwhile projects, these resources enable students to develop, arrange, and communicate their own conceptual understanding. Learners employ useful tools to expand their knowledge through creativity, critical thinking, and investigation rather than merely memorizing facts.

 Microsoft Word

One popular word processor created by Microsoft is called Microsoft Word (MS Word). It is a component of the Microsoft Office suite and can be found online as part of Office 365 as well as on Windows and macOS. Document creation, editing, formatting, and printing are all intended uses for the tool. Because of its rich feature set and easy-to-use interface, Microsoft Word is used extensively in homes, workplaces, and educational institutions.

 Features of MS Word

1. Text Formatting: Users can alter the font type, size, color, and style (bold, italic, underline) in Microsoft Word. This improves the readability and aesthetic appeal of documents.

2. Templates: It saves time and ensures a professional appearance by providing pre-made templates for letters, resumes, reports, and newsletters.

3. Spell Check and Grammar Tools: In order to promote language development and writing accuracy, the integrated spelling and grammar checker points out mistakes and makes correction suggestions.

Integration of MS Word into Teaching

Both digital learning environments and traditional classroom instruction can benefit greatly from the use of Microsoft Word. Here's how I will incorporate MS Word in classroom:

 Lesson Planning and Preparation: I can create worksheets, handouts, and structured lesson plans using Microsoft Word. Templates support the preservation of professionalism and uniformity in documentation.


• Assignments and Reports: Students can use Word to finish assignments, compose essays, and turn in reports. By helping students develop their ICT and presentation skills, teachers can encourage the format their work correctly.

• Collaborative Learning: Students can evaluate one another's work by using the "Track Changes" and "Comments" tools. Instructors are also able to give drafts immediate feedback.

• Inclusive Education: With the help of screen readers and audio features, Word's accessibility tools guarantee that students with learning disabilities or visual impairments can interact with the content.

• Assessment and Feedback: I can use Word's tables and checklists to create assessments, feedback forms, and rubrics. This encourages systematic and open evaluation.

• Digital Portfolio: Students can create their learning portfolios using Microsoft Word. To demonstrate their progress, they can include scanned work, photos, and written reflections.

 

With the increasing integration of ICT in Bhutanese education, Microsoft Word is a vital tool for teachers and students alike. It boosts student creativity, improves teaching effectiveness, and promotes digital literacy.

Telegram as Communicative tool

 Communicative Tool

Tools that facilitate the exchange of information, ideas, and messages are known as communicative tools. Teachers and students can communicate, exchange ideas, ask and receive questions, provide feedback, and stay in touch thanks to these tools. In the realm of education, communication tools are crucial for fostering relationships between students and instructors, particularly when they are geographically separated.

 Telegram: A Smart Channel for Organized Communication

Telegram is one communication tool I use on a daily basis. I find Telegram to be very user-friendly and beneficial for both academic and personal communication as a college student. This messaging app makes learning more flexible and connected by facilitating quick and easy communication with others.

Our college uses Telegram extensively for instructional purposes. For every subject or class, we set up group chats where tutors and students can freely exchange messages. We exchange assignments, study materials, class updates, critical announcements, and reminders in these groups. This keeps everyone in the class informed and in agreement. In the group, I can ask any question I have, and the tutor or a friend will answer. Learning becomes more dynamic and captivating as a result.

The ability to share files is one of Telegram's best features. Documents, PDFs, pictures, audio files, and even videos can all be sent. We can readily download the notes and slides that tutors upload at any time. This helps save time and effort and lessens the need for printed materials.



I also appreciate the voice message feature. Tutors occasionally send voice notes when they are pressed for time or need to quickly explain something. I learn better when I hear their voice, especially when the subject is complex and hard to grasp through reading alone.

Important messages, like deadlines, exam schedules, or Zoom links for online classes, can also be pinned on Telegram. In this manner, we can locate crucial information without having to sift through hundreds of messages. Pinned messages help the group stay organized and save time.


The poll tool is an additional entertaining and practical feature. Simple polls can be made by tutors to gauge attendance, gather opinions, or quickly assess students' comprehension. Everyone can participate in the learning process in this interactive way.

Telegram is not just a messaging app, it is an effective teaching tool that facilitates learning, teamwork, and communication. It facilitates the speed, ease, and connectivity of our academic lives. Telegram makes everything simpler and more efficient, whether you're asking questions, sending reminders, sharing learning resources, or having group discussions.

 



Instagram as Informative Tool

Informative Tool

It is any tool, digital or non-digital, that helps us to find, receive, or understand information. These tools are mainly used for learning, teaching, or staying updated. Some examples are textbooks, educational websites, news apps and many other.

Instagram: A Visual Gateway to Learning and Awareness

One of the most widely used social media sites nowadays, particularly among youth, is Instagram. It has developed into a potent educational tool, even though many people still view it primarily as a place to share private images and videos. Instagram's user-friendly layout and emphasis on visual content enable users to learn, stay current, and creatively explore a wide range of topics.

Instagram's visual approach is one of its main characteristics that makes it informative. Information presented through images, infographics, carousel posts, and short videos (Reels) makes learning more engaging. These visual aids can aid in the simplification, comprehension, and retention of difficult ideas.

I personally follow news sources, educational pages, and content producers on Instagram who share content about digital skills, science, literature, culture, and the environment. 


For example:

  • News pages use attention-grabbing headlines and succinct descriptions to provide updates on current affairs.
  • In Reels, educators share brief grammatical, mathematical, or general knowledge tips.

  •    Through images and videos, cultural pages from Bhutan and other countries share rich stories, customs, and values.
  • Additionally, by enabling users to engage with content through likes, comments, and shares, the platform promotes participation and conversation around educational subjects. It turns into a location for both observation and involvement in learning communities.

How I Will Use Instagram to Teach

As a future teacher, I believe Instagram can be used meaningfully to support teaching. Here are some ways I can use the platform:

1. Share Learning Content

  •  I can make a class-based Instagram account where I share brief lesson summaries, daily learning objectives, or revision notes using pictures or infographic slides.
  •  I can post a "word of the day" with definition, usage, and an example sentence for language lessons.
  •  I can use diagrams and quick videos to visually explain important concepts in science or social studies.

 2. Use Reels for Micro-Lessons

      Reels can be used to create quick teaching moments, such as how to solve a math problem, explain a grammar rule, or provide study advice.


       3. Showcase Student Work

        By posting student projects or artwork, I can encourage creativity and boost learners' confidence.

4. Share Classroom Updates:

·       Announcements, deadlines, and event reminders can be displayed as stories so that students can easily view and respond.

Conclusion

Platforms like Instagram have the potential to become useful educational resources in the digital age, going beyond simple entertainment. Instagram promotes creative expression, facilitates visual learning, and makes information easily accessible. I can interact with a larger community of learners, learn from other educators, and present content in interesting ways using Instagram as a teacher. Instagram has the potential to revolutionize the teaching-learning process by making it more engaging, personalized, and fun for both teachers and students when used carefully and with a clear goal in mind.
